The well-loved family-friendly affair and fundraising initiative, “Holiday Skate With the Lakers,” is making its return on Sunday, December 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. This joyful event will take place at the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Center in the Marano Campus Center, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting the United Way of Greater Oswego County.
The community is warmly welcomed to join in the festive spirit and skate alongside the Laker men’s and women’s hockey teams. Admission is set at $3 per person, and for those in need of skates, there’s an additional $3 rental fee.
Exciting highlights of the event include opportunities to win a coveted Laker hockey jersey and a special visit from Santa Claus.
Mark Digby, the head coach of the Oswego State women’s hockey team and the event’s organizer, expressed the enthusiasm of student-athletes for giving back to fans, particularly children. He emphasized the event as a source of joy for both players and the community’s kids, all while contributing to a meaningful cause.
It’s important to note that children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult during the event.
